Sergei Maximov

I am a psychologist (both in terms of my bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as my professional background), and I have been actively practicing in private practice since 2019. I currently work as a part-time psychologist at a technical university. I have been writing for Habr since 2022, and my articles have been featured in the top and most-commented articles of the year. I specialize in the psychology of technical professionals and other individuals who "trust only their minds." In other words, I focus on those who find other psychologists too abstract and airy.

I had an unusual hobby: from about 2012 to 2020, I searched for various sects and cults and joined them to learn about the specific methods used to "brainwash" people. I wrote a thesis on manipulation. I worked with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service on extremist materials and events related to these sects. I also worked in corporate education, teaching chefs to distinguish between tortillas and pita bread and teaching debt collectors how to collect money without violating the law. I was responsible for building a strong corporate culture. I passed almost all the psychological aggregators (by education, experience, and credentials) and refused to cooperate with them, because they are a real fraud.
